Establishing priorities of water use in the province is necessary to guide water-taking decisions. Our most valuable essential resource must be protected from unlimited commercial use. There must be provisions in place to secure enough drinking water for local communities and to ensure sustainability of clean drinking water. Bottled water not only consumes much more energy to produce, it also increases plastic pollution. The water taken from aquifers leaves the area perhaps even the country unlike our tap water which can recycle.
