Given the situation with water issues world wide and locally, these new regulations must be firm and dedicated to protecting water!
The so called sustainability into the future for frivolous uses like plastic water is irresponsible at best!
I live in Centre Wellington where the Fergus water treatment plant is at full capacity NOW and growth continues at a rapid pace. We are in a mess now!
The new growth targets for 2051 increases the number of people pouring into the County. This puts an unwarranted burden on our infrastructure including water for drinking and waste water treatment.
Municipalities are inundated with demands and pressures for growth from the province. The province then removes zoning decision making on aggregates that suck the water and pollute it, and this means municipalities MUST have a veto on permits to take water And have drinking water as a priority!

That can not just a be a"consultation" like the so called "consultation" that Indigenous people are supposed to have but are largely ignored! it must be a meaningful, fully informed VETO!

The provincial government must step up on behalf of municipalities to allow them to plan for their futures and their infrastructure. Our community is the canary in the coal mine and we are in trouble! Nestle or Ice River Springs want to take the same amount the village of Elora uses in a day while Centre Wellington needs at least 4 new municipal wells. The province MUST NOT allow this to happen
here or in any other community!

This situation is on Doug Ford and Jeff Yurek's watch. They can protect these municipalities, watersheds, and ecosystems by making good policy to protect water. Anything less is irresponsible and damaging!
