- Waste from the City of Toronto including the impacted neighborhood is already being treated by the City at the Disco Road and Dufferin Facility. What are the intended sources of waste for such a Facility.
If waste is being brought from all over Ontario, what is the beneficial impact to the impacted neighborhood as the Facility will not be treating local waste.
- What kind of equipment is being proposed for separation of organics for anaerobic digestion from the waste. What are the different wastes that the Facility will treat?
- In addition to trucks delivering waste, what is the number of trucks to transport non organic waste as well as the sludge from the digesters?
- What is the footprint required for the Activated Carbon odour control system. Activated carbon is usually a polishing step and not for primary treatment of odours. Will the Facility have online monitoring for odors?
- Operations of such facilities seem to require specific skills. How many jobs will be created and will there be an option for hiring of local skills?
- The neighborhood was against a similar solution for municipal sludge treatment where it was expected that truck traffic would be 5-10 trucks / day max. How is this any different?
