I find it astonishing that the provincial government and the premier can be so shortsighted to allow such a significant project with ramifications across such a large area to proceed with a streamlined process for assessing the environmental impact. This is not cutting down a tree or digging a trench, this is the building of the most significant stretch of highway in many year. WE CANNOT SHORT CIRCUIT THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROCESS FOR THE SAKE OF EXPEDITING THE EFFORT. The existing process is in place for a reason and is one that is there to protect all of us. Let the process take its course and allow the right decisions to be made. This project is not where we want to start tinkering with the process.
