In researching the proposal, a panel consisting of professional individuals recommended in 2017 to the government that the GTA West Corridor 413 HWY was not beneficial to communities and taxpayers of Ontario. Taxpayers dollars would be better spend on the expansion of GO lines and secondary roads.

Given what is currently happening with COVID there are far less people travelling and using roadways. It is starting to prove itself that many people will not return back to their offices and continue to work from home changing the scope of travel.

So why is this Highway all of a sudden being fast tracked?

What is driving this? Is it pressure from the developers who are the ones that will benefit the most from this project. They own all the big parcels of land in the area.

The government needs to be fiscally responsible. How many vehicles can travel for free for the 6 plus billion dollar new proposed 413 Hwy if they were allowed use Hwy 407 instead, which is less than 10 minutes south of the proposed 400 exit and under utilized.

Hwy 9 is already 2 lanes each way; expand it to 4 lanes and expand hwy 27, 50 427.... north moving west. This will service so many more Communities and commuters travelling north, south, east and west.

This is not a Vaughan, King or Brampton municipal issue. This is an Ontario taxpayer problem. Ontarian's speak up you’ll be flipping the bill for this and for the ongoing maintenance costs for the rest of your life with no benefits to you.

Furthermore, what gives the Province of Ontario the right to alter the EA process. They have made it public that they want to fast track this process. If successful communities will basically be shut out of the consultation process.

Are they taking the rights away from Ontarian's to provide their input and voice their opinions? Is this not being paid by taxpayer dollars!

What province / country do we live in again!!!!
