I oppose the taking of wild animals for use in sport. Ontario must protect its indigenous wildlife. It is highly stressful to take wild animals - from the wild - and keep them in captivity. The new PAWS legislation should be taken into consideration in terms of animal welfare. As a society, we are realizing more now what constitutes animal welfare, including physiological and psychological stress - both of which are negatively impacted by bringing wild animals into captivity. The MNRF should never allow such cruelty and I respectfully request you strongly consider aborting this proposal, as well as reviewing the new PAWS legislation that now includes wildlife. This practice should not be allowed.
