I support the extension on the moratorium on water bottling permits. I am NOT in support of for-profit bottling of water due to the horrific wastefulness of plastic water bottles which are not reliably recycled and inadequate demand for post-consumer recycled plastic regardless of recycling practices. Additionally, the pressures such water bottling practices place on already strained community water resources is concerning. The time to put an end to this type of water bottling practice has most definitely come. Please, stand for community members who strongly oppose the for-profit taking of water by corporations at the expense of tax payers.
