I am writing to express my support for the proposed extension of the moratorium on water bottling permits, and to support an amendment to the Ontario Water Resources Act that would require water bottlers to require the support of a host municipality when applying for a new permit to take water. It is imperative that the local municipality has a voice in the decisions that can impact the safety, affordability and availability of their local water supply.
