I would love to see my fellow falconers of the North enjoy the wild take of birds we have access to here in the United States. From all we know it is highly unlikely for a first year bird to survive the winter (70-90% fatality) and as such a wild trapped bird is considered a no impact scenario. Not only does it not reduce wild populations, it allows birds used in falconry to be cared for, medicated if necessary and eventually released to the wild as a strong, capable member of the breeding population, benefiting rather than harming the species. Please allow this ancient tradition to continue and improve in Canada. God bless
