The take of wild raptors for falconry has been essential to the sport for most of the sport's existence. Wild birds perform so much better than captive-bred raptors that it is well worth the effort to trap and train a wild bird. Considering the number of wild raptors that are naturally eliminated from the eco-system every year, the very few birds taken by falconers will not affect the population at all. I fully support the take of wild birds and consider it essential to the developing falconer, and I urge the adoption of the proposed regulations.
