re: ERO 019-1806
I oppose the expansion of the live capture of wild raptors, because their numbers are constantly declining. If raptors, top predators are removed from an ecosystem the balance of numbers of all members of the food chain will be disrupted.
I oppose the inclusion of Northern Goshawks on the live capture list. They are rarely seen, sparsely distributed and their numbers are declining. In the 2005 Breeding Bird Atlas decline was noted from the previous Atlas , 20 years before. Hawkwatch monitors the migration of raptors. They have recorded declines in all raptors.
I would prefer to see a decrease in the numbers of live capture of raptors instead of an increase.
