What I don't understand about this is that they keep saying blue box. We haven't had boxes for years; we have had bins. Yet when I watched it on the news, the men were emptying boxes. Are we going back to boxes?
The problem with this is that racoons can get into boxes. Even if you wash out your cans well, they can still smell food and will rip your box apart, strewing stuff everywhere. It was a nightmare for me when we had boxes. It doesn't make a lot of sense to return to boxes in that regard. Plus wheeling a bin out is a lot easier than carrying full bins, particularly for old people.
