7) Updates to Leachate Testing and Related Requirements E9003
Please consider including defined prescriptive elements and defined non-critical aspects of E9003 that can be modified to allow all environmental labs to use the same procedure in the revised leachate method.
Please include EPA 200.2 (or equivalent) as one of the allowable EPA digestion methods.
Please consider adding guidance on identifying samples that are not adequately filtered for metals to provide a consistent approach between laboratories. This may include "visible turbidity" and indicate if samples with visible turbidity should be re-filtered unless a high capacity filter was used.
Please include glass or teflon as the required leaching container for extractable organics.
Please indicate that the leachate tests mercury and hexavalent Chromium would also be filtered using 0.45um filter.
Define the form of Cyanide that would be measured, either Free or WAD and provide a definition and method pH for the analytical procedure. pH 4.5 or pH 6 for example. This would be a comment for the Analytical Protocol update.
