This is so disrespectful to cities and the people who live in them and are passionate about their built landscape, about heritage, about the environment, about the future. The fact that a minister who lives three hours away (just hypothetically, not naming names) could unilaterally determine the fate of an entire block of a city, without in any way involving ANYONE from that city, is madness. This will only create potential for corruption and lead to thousands of condos and none of the diversity and history that makes cities so great in the first place.
