I believe that moving forward with the Reid Road Reservoir Quarry in Milton will have a significant negative impact on the surrounding community and wildlife. This quarry would be located in an area that is critically important for native species of plants and animals and is currently visited by many people from within and outside of the area.

The quarry itself and resulting vehicle traffic would have a detrimental effect on the ability of people to enjoy and appreciate the conservation areas and walk on the quiet side roads. One thing that COVID has reinforced is that green space is critically important to the physical and mental health of those in the community. This is not the time to be taking away the ability to enjoy nature and for our wildlife to be given every opportunity to thrive.
