As an Ontarian homeowner, taxpayer and voter I am strongly opposed to this.

It is not in the interests of Ontario's present or future for this Ministry to have more power and influence than it already has. The current Ontario government, and this Ministry in particular, seems to have come under the influence of the development industry, highlighting the risk of giving more power to this Ministry as proposed.

This proposal risks creating an inappropriate hierarchy, where the needs of industries, such as real estate developers, is placed above the interests of Ontarians and the natural Ontario ecosystem, which enables Ontario to continue to survive and thrive.

Provincial Policy Statements are developed for a reason, to provide guidance and guardrails. Allowing these to be circumvented benefits no one.
