This proposal is incredibly positive and forward thinking on several fronts. Controlling urban sprawl and directing intensification in the areas that are close to services. Ensuring clean water for the future. Respecting natural ecosystems and acknowledging there importance to society.

If the greenbelt is extended into simcoe county it honours and respects "Huronia" and its native heritage. This area has become the wild west of urban sprawl. This would be a sign that we are serious about natural heritage. In Simcoe there are extensive tracts of forests that are important habitat for a number of forest interior (bird) species as well as for mammals such as Black Bear, Martin and Fisher which have large home ranges. These however, are not well protected because of the complex battles between the County, municipalities, developers and the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB).

Include the area around Lake simcoe in the greenbelt .pls see att map. The lake simcoe protection act has not been effective in controlling phosphorous levels in the lake. We need to value indigenous relations, protect wetlands and water.

Fresh water is a limited resource. . In order to function as a sustainable society we need to extend the protection to include areas of the Bruce Peninsula, Brant County, Simcoe County, Northumberland County and Waterloo region. In doing so this would help to protect the very important Waterloo moraine,Orangeville moraine and Oro moraine that is essential for a growing popultion.

pleaase see att map. I am proposing dark green area greenbelt 2.0 additions and Lake simcoe protection area.
