I am a Toronto citizen who is very concerned with the Ontario government using MZO's to push through controversial developments that could have devistating effects without any chance of appeal.

I am absolutely horrified by the effects the Doug Ford government has had on the natural environment of Ontario so far and I am very very concerned that the use of MZO's will allow them to expedite this destruction. Bill 229 allowed him to strip the authority of conservations to protect the environment. He made logging companies except from endangered species law.
Who puts short term commercial gain above the preservation of species who have spent trillions of years evolving to this point and who we all rely on in this web of life?

These are just several examples of apauling and criminal disregard for natural life that Doug Ford has proven time and time again. If we allow him this extra power to do more harm we may never be able to undo the damage.

It seems to me quite unjust that an MZO which is to be used in emergencies has now been used so frequently and carelessly towards developments that seem purely financial and not in the interests of the people or environments they affect.

It's very important to me that we keep the ability to have public interest affect policy. That is at the heart of democracy is it not?
I beg you to please listen to the public outcry against these propossed changes to the MZO's and planning act.

Do the right thing.
Do the democratic thing.

Keep the remaining little control that people have to protect the most sacred of things. Protect the environment that holds all of our lives in it's hands.
