The Greenbelt is an essential part of our ecological greenscape.
I support the need for the largest possible expansion of the Greenbelt. This is needed to protect the ecological corridors and to protect important natural areas. These cannot be allowed to be sold off for development. These areas are critical for long term ecological sustainability and should be protected. Urban growth should be up, not wide at the expense of our Greenbelt.
The Rouge River upstream of Rouge National Urban Park and Duffin’s Creek are key areas for restoration and enhanced protection and connectivity. Keep them that way.
