Attached please find my family’s submission to the Provincial Greenbelt Consultation on Growing the Size of the Greenbelt.

My family and I are extremely supportive of the plan to grow the Greenbelt and feel that the provincial government needs to be far more ambitious with expansion to ensure Ontairo has the balance and sustainability that will be required by future generations.

Climate change, rapid development, population growth, biodiversity loss and so many other issues threaten the quality of life for all Ontarians, yet the Greenbelt has the potential to address and remedy so much of this while ensuring the most economical solutions for clean water, local food and thriving communities. Quite simply expanding the Greenbelt is the most cost effective investment you can make to ensure the success and resilience of future generations.

Our responses to the Consultation Questions are attached below. Please ensure that any Greenbelt expansion does no weaken or erode our local protections here in Waterloo Region that we already count on so much.
