I have waited to submit my comments to the MINISTRY on EARTH DAY. To me this is appropriate.

I was in attendance at the Drop-In Session held in Council Chambers on Jan. 29th , 2020. Numerous valid thoughts and concerns were herd. In speaking to the group, a couple of areas of concern were touched upon:

A) Does a site amendment or change of original land use open the floodgates for others? Does approving a revised land designation here ENABLE numerous others to make application for site amendments? Isn't it fair to "assume" that what's good for one is good for all?

B) By allowing this application, do we invite or enable yet another "GREENBANK" environmental disaster? Who/when and where monitors the content of the 1 million cubic meters from other jurisdictions? Are law abiding Uxbridge residents, in search of a more safe and placid lifestyle expected to foot the cost of checks and balances here?

C) Who/when and where will monitor the highly vulnerable aquifer @ this site? If the floodgate opens the same question applies to potentially 40 others. Who pays for this monitoring process while the COMMUNITY, rightly so, frets about environmental contamination?

D) Questions arose about community safety and TRUCK traffic....let's not kid ourselves, the # of trucks into a site equal the # of trucks departing said site. There is concrete evidence that the # of trucks on Regionally designated NO TRUCK routes has already multiplied. Policing this illegal activity appears to be an issue (minimal or non-existent)---yes, all budgets are strained. Many residents have made significant "life decisions" to locate here----ignoring rules and regulations was not part of the original deal. Relaxing the appropriate restriction on corporate citizens can not mean eroding the peace of mind of many private citizens.
The ROAD WATCH program is without volunteers, I hear this from DRPS--no solution here.
The cavalcade of trucks experienced in 2020 has resumed. A # of these sand/gravel trucks, without authorization, are using illegal dump-sites! It has been brought to my attention that LAKE SIMCOE CONSERVATION AUTHORITY has placed stop work orders which are being ignored! yes, today!! Budgets for organizations designed to protect our communities and the environment are also stretched like so many others. This can not be seen as an opportunity to "do as we please".

What we know about the environment today is dramatically different from what we knew 10 or 20 years ago------we cannot amend the science. Law abiding Uxbridge residents deserve to be protected.
We look for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry to protect our vulnerable ecosystem for the current and future generations. Environmentally, there are LIMITS TO HEALTHY GROWTH!

A concerned UXBRIDGE resident.
