I am writing today…

I am writing today expressing concerns over the Application for Site Plan Approval from Miller Paving Ltd.

It has come to my attention that this company has been flaunting the law as it comes to compliance to the regulations of their contractors yard. A company with a poor reputation such as this does not strike confidence in the citizens of this town, and tells us that they only care about themselves. To our detriment they will continue to take advantage of our township.

Another concern here is for the safekeeping of the Oak Ridges Moraine upon which this site rests. The government on all levels has said many words about the environmental crisis. But here we have an opportunity to show that we are more than words. We can show that we will not tolerate the destruction of our vulnerable aquifers. We the people who the government represents do not want more destruction of this land, and especially not so close to home.

Look, at the end of the day, I'm just a regular citizen. But I can see bad news when there's bad news in front of me. And these applications are bad news banging on your door. If these applications are considered then we are opening the metaphorical (for now) flood gates.
