Texas alone spend upwards of 4 million dollars a year controlling wild hogs and U.S crop losses exceed 1.5 billion annually from an estimated 9 million federal swine spread over 39 States. . Hunting alone won't be enough to stop this invasion but it would be a good place to start. No requirements other than a valid small game licence should be needed, along with no closed season. This might have an impact on the numbers but significant penalties for transporting live wild hogs should also be in place to prevent their range being expanded just to promote hunting opportunities. Damage to native bio-diversity as well as the deseases and parasites they van carry also makes immediate action imperative. Ďon't let Ontario become like Texas due to inaction.
