I read the ministry's proposal and agree that nipping this invasive wild pig in the bud is crucial to protecting and preserving native wildlife and agri business. If the province is going to use a no-hunt approach, the ministry will need to spend a lot of time and money on an outreach program to educate people. My automatic reaction, before reading the info, was well, just do like down south, where states often use baited hog traps (where the pigs are lured into a fenced area and then all are shot and the meat is donated to the community). It makes sense to avoid this approach at this stage, but many of us won't even realize it or why.
