Cutting forests to produce energy is simply wrong and exactly the opposite of what is needed to fight climate change. Our forests, particularly old growth forests, need to be protected as they are important carbon sinks and trees are a critical part of fighting climate change. We need more trees not less and there are plenty of other biomass options available. It makes no sense whatsoever to cut down trees to burn them for energy -it is a giant step backwards and should not be considered at all.
