I support a transition to an economy that runs on sustainability and respect for the future and that we must make it happen asap. However, using wood pellets is not the best way to go.
Amidst an ever growing climate crisis, cutting down forests to make a fuel that emits large amounts of carbon dioxide seems wrong. I understand that It can take centuries for forests to regain the majority of their carbon storage after being logged.
We want our province to be a leader in the emerging green economy but is it not deceptive to claim that ‘clean electricity’ can be produced from burning wood pellets?
Premier Ford, we count on you to do the right thing by the environment and by present and future generations.
