In order for Ontario to have some impact on helping the fight on climate change, there has to be some incentive to reduce use of fossil fuels. Any sincere effort has to include a reduction in fossil fuel use. There are many ways to do that, and updating infrastructure is probably the best way. Make charging stations ubiquitous. Update the electricity grid to be more decentralized. Put solar panels on every roof. Incentivize renewable energy companies to make their products in Ontario. Be creative and bold, if a carbon pricing is off the table, there are many other ways to go about it.
