Good day,
In times of emergency, is the time when humans need fully certified Water and Wastewater Operators on deck to look after all aspects of operations.
Not once, not for a second should there be any thought of replacing such a professional that isn't certified!
One could argue that why did the province of Ontario introduce the certification process in the first place if you're not going to respect the process one hundred percent of the time. Also, one could argue that it doesn't sound like the province of Ontario has plans on being a "world leader in water and wastewater protection".
Keep the training, competency and knowledge level high at all times, no matter what circumstances arise in water and wastewater operations. The general public counts on us (certified Water and Wastewater Operators) especially during an emergency!
The province of Ontario needs to further invest into this field promoting and making aware to the general public, career options and availability.
Lets move Ontario forward, together.
