Professional engineers should be only permitted to operate in an emergency if they have 5 years of experience (like managers) in the appropriate field. Don't want a bridge engineer operating a water plant. Don't want a P. Eng. who mostly does max day calculations repairing a valve. Read more

The proposed changes look good overall. It does not seem reasonable, however, to all people to operate drinking water systems just because they hold an engineering or engineering tech degree/diploma. Read more

If you want to make sure you are ready for the next emergency. If it is a pandemic or whatever the case may be, why wouldn't you implement measures that better support your staff with policies that limit worker contact and allow the operators to continue to do their essential jobs. Read more

I strongly appose these changes. This field is one that needs to be treated as a profession and not something that can be replaced with "Temps". To enact such changes would hinder the fairness for unionized employees in respect to the bargaining process.

I think this is a little late, and quite unnecesarry... vaccines are rolling out, and with this means a sense of normalcy returning to our society. Classes for certifications are still running, and have been throughout the pandemic. Read more

The rules and regulations regarding safe drinking water were put in place for a reason. Remember Walkerton? Certifications are required because there are alot of potential issues that lack of experience can not only make worse but could make catastrophic. Please don't allow this to happen. Read more
