Since current commercial vehicles have software to prevent operation with emissions faults, Why would there need to be 381/02 authorizing officers to put out of service and remove number plates? There needs to be some compromise as these systems are prone to issues and the drivers should be allowed to return to home base or repair business where possible. The software already limits speeds to 80km/h initially and then further limits to 5km/h if still left unrepaired. I submit to you that there is no need for heavy handedness in this area unless there is a tampering issue present.
