With regard to proposition #2 to allow bow hunting during the CDH, although the wearing of hunter orange is required, I am concerned for the safety of bow hunters and the additional potential conflicts when a CDH passes by a bow hunter.
Bow hunters are not accustom to wearing orange and I suspect some may wear it in and out of the stand but not while stationed. It would be very difficult for enforcement to address this as they would not typically witness a bow hunter in their stand, so it would be left to other hunters to lodge a complaint which would not result in anything more than conflict in the field and a "he-said-she-said" argument.
The bow season is long enough to provide ample opportunity to hunt. A couple of weeks of shutdown for safety is not a major concern and is not a major enforcement issue. I do not see any benefit from the proposition.
