I believe there should only be 1 controlled hunt in ontario being the 1st week of December in southern Ontario. I think this due to the fact that the “rut” is typically the 1st week of November coinciding with the 1st controlled hunt. During this week I believe more deer are being harvested than what the population can sustain. Specifically with does being shot.
I also believe that bows should be allowed during the controlled hunt. This would allow hunters to hunt on the last Sunday where Sunday gun hunting is not permitted during the controlled hunt.
