Regarding the WMU’s where bow hunting is not permitted during the controlled weeks.

I’m sure it’s because of the density of hunters but I think there should be exceptions. If it’s private property and no other hunters hunt. I don’t see the problem in allowing bow hunting during a gun week.

And all you could also alternate the controlled and bow weeks yearly, so that everyone can experience the actual deer rutting phase. Every year hunting in 91 and 92 I’ve never been able to hunt the first week of November with my bow and would love that experience.

(And I know it’s not every group, but prolly more then fewer.)
shotgun hunters have a bad reputation for poaching, trespassing, drinking, shooting from the truck, terrible field dressing and leaving behind meat, shooting fawns, etc. Cuz you know the saying “if it’s brown it’s down” So I wouldn’t feel bad if they hunted a different week for a change. We bow hunters tend to be a different breed and understand deer management, property management and hunting ethically vs shooting at anything that moves.

And the short answer from you to me would be apply to the shotgun week. But I battle a moral decision in hunting with a firearm. And that choice will always have me at a disadvantage during the hunting season.
