While controlling any activities on Crown lands is almost impossible, creating a door to legalalizing actions as proposed will create more problems I believe.
It will just make people do more than they already probably do anyway. And there is no way anyone will check if someone cut down 5 or 15 or 55 trees, if the did it oce or 10x a year or if the Christmas tree was 2.4 or 3.7m. It will just endanger the environment even more and create opportunities to vandalize it.
Plus allowing it for certain areas..far north... is not equal to all of the residents of Ontario who do not have acces to those areas, especially with limted mobility and money.
Moreover, transplanting trees from one area to another is discouraged because of environmental diseases this can cause so nit sure why it's even proposed.
