It's about time that this is legalized
My main concern is about the actual allowable limit fo wood that can be taken by an individual without a permit for personal use
Correct me if I'm wrong but ....
I'm old school so if my calculations are right: 1 full cord = 128 cube feet of wood = 3.6 cubic meter wood
The proposed limit is be 20 cubic meter = 5.5 full cords of wood = that's 16.6 pick up truck loads ( half ton ) even if it's personal use and taken under the proper conditions
I only use about 3 full cords to heat my house with so this will be fantastic " free wood " every year
My point being I can see this big of an amount being taken advantage of and abuse could take place
I'd always assumed the tif the Ministry approved such thing it would be much less allowable quantity
But if it's clearly stated for downed timber only and NO Live or Standing allowed then OK
