Cancelling Ontario's Cap and Trade system is shortsighted and bad policy. Multiple jurisdictions have shown that you can use a cap and trade system to reduce greenhouse gas emissions without harming the economy. Replacing Cap and Trade with a carbon tax would be worse for consumers and businesses. And dealing with the effects of climate change after the fact will be more expensive than trying to prevent it.
