Good afternoon,
Weston Consulting is the authorized planning consultant for The Bowmanville North (Soper Springs) Landowners Group Inc, whom maintain ownership over greater than 80% of the lands within the Soper Springs Secondary Plan area within the Municipality of Clarington (herein called Soper Springs).
We are writing on behalf of the following owners who own lands within the Soper Springs Secondary Plan area, which is bound by Liberty Street North to the west, Concession Road 3 to the south, and the urban settlement area boundary of Bowmanville to the north and east:
• Jayzeee Properties Inc.;
• Estates of Soper Creek Corp.; and,
• 3253 Liberty St N Limited Partnership.
We have been monitoring the “Consultation on growing the size of the Greenbelt” and we herewith offer the following comments on the consultation of the addition of Urban River Valleys. On behalf of the owners, it is requested that there be no expansion of the Greenbelt into existing identified urban settlement areas, and more specifically the Soper Springs Secondary Plan area. The Secondary Plan area is a future Secondary Plan area within the Municipality of Clarington urban area and is to accommodate future urban uses and will accommodate population and job growth in Clarington. Additionally, a Sub-watershed study and Secondary Plan (Soper Springs Secondary Plan) for this area are currently underway and will inform future land uses and development within the urban area.
