Thank you for giving me an opportunity to plead for the return of established, modestly sized, residential housing to people who intend to live in houses all twelve months of the year, year after year.

So many hundred of existing houses of this sort have been removed from availability to permanent residents by the wholesale purchase of this stock for Off Campus Housing of students in our Universities and Colleges in London and the surrounding area.

I and my husband spent our adult lives as University Professors; I have no animus towards students.

My point is: that so much modestly sized houses in my neighbourhood here in London will stand EMPTY until next September. In my opinion, that is an obscenity.

The many new brick quadra-plexes built by private owners and rented to students make eminent sense. These are new buildings, well kept by their owners, and usually constructed along main arteries, therefore being on bus lines for the students at University.

Please, restore the existing residential stock. It is located where the Parks are; where the primary and secondary schools are. With a little help from Government, Non-Profit Housing Corporations, many of the so-called "working poor" could flourish. The more our people flourish, the more our society flourishes.

Thank you. Sincerely Joan lenardon, President, Kinwell Place, Non-Profit Housing Corporation, London, ON
