I support the amendments to…

I support the amendments to its official plan that the City of Hamilton is proposing. In particular, I strongly support accommodation of growth to 2051 within the existing urban boundary, in order to presreve farmland outside the present urban area. I support the City's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions within the entire city and to adapting to the anticipated impacts of climate change caused by excess greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. I believe that the proposal makes sense to accommodate about 30% of the anticipated growth in the downtown, about 40% in urban nodes and corridors, and about 30% in neighbourhoods. I support a change in zoning of single-family neighbourhoods (including mine) to inclusive zoning that permits duplexes, triplexes and four-plexes.
