Love the idea of expanding the network of EV chargers in Ontario.
I live in the Kawartha Lakes and it's obvious there are serious EV charging gaps in our rural communities. Tourism is an important business in many of our communities along the Trent system. Currently there is only one fast charger that I know of in Lindsay - at the rec centre. Apparently there are some at the OPP station out of town, but that's a useless location. Nothing to do there while you wait for a charge.

Other ares in need include Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls.

Type of trips: Those visiting from an hour's drive or more away may need to top up their charge. Visitors generally need fast chargers to do a same-day return trip. Even if they're spending the weekend, if there's no level two charger at their accommodation, a nearby fast-charger is important. Note that very few hotels and motels have level 2 chargers yet.

Chargers should be located close to shopping or restaurants or other activities (hiking, swimming etc).

The main challenge I see is keeping the chargers maintained and in working order. There has been a charger at the Scotiabank in Lindsay for quite some time. I don't know if it's ever worked in recent years. The same goes for other Scotiabank locations in Ontario, by the way.
