If we are to continue to live on this planet we must either curb pollution of our air and water, or face growing hazards to our health and safety. Cap and trade was one fairly efficient way of doing this that did not cost taxpayers, apart from those who owned pollluting industries.

Extreme weather events resulting from climate change are costing Ontarians the loss of forests and some homes to fires. Floods are taking lives and homes and costing a lot of money for repairs, and mitigation efforts. Now we face the prospect of a costly lawsuit to challenge the federal government's plan to impose a tax. So we pay for a lengthy and probably futile lawsuit plus pay the tax. This does not make sense or do anything to limit climate change.

Please consider taxpayers and the future of our planet. Not everything the previous Liberal government did was helpful, but throwing out the good along with bad makes no sense.
