I am deeply disappointed by this government's recent moves on climate change. From cancelling the carbon pricing program, to eliminating rebates and incentives for home retrofits, it appears that this government does not think climate change is an important issue to address. Clearly climate change is happening, as evidenced by the wildfires, floods tornadoes, and heatwaves that have fallen upon communities across Canada this year. Clearly this is only going to get worse over the coming decades due to the continued build-up of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Ontario needs to do its fair share to reduce its emissions and contribute to the global effort to avoid catastrophe. I sincerely fear for the future of my children, who are just 3 and 5 years old right now. I want government leadership on this issue, not divisive politics that pits one against another.
I urge this government to reconsider its stance on this most pressing issue.
