Reducing global carbon…

Reducing global carbon emissions must not be tied to politics. It must be done in the name of ensuring humanity’s ability to survive on this planet.

Burning carbon is easy. Reducing carbon is hard. No one said change would be easy or cheap, but make no mistake we will pay for this one way or another. Paying with our health, paying with our future generation’s quality of life, paying with irreversible changes to our planet. All of which carry much higher price tags than dealing with this problem today.

Cap and trade is one way to force change. We must force change. Left to our own devices humans will always take the easy way, the cheap way or the most profitable way. We are putting humanity into carbon debt, and like most debt the problem only compounds and eventually will be insurmountable. Cancelling cap and trade is short sighted and this government has offered no alternative plan. This is unacceptable.

Canada and Ontario must be leaders. If not us, then who?
