It is very disappointing to think that our conservation authorities will lose the power and control of Ontario’s valuable resource lands. Developers are interested only in lining their pockets and our wetlands, forests and beaches are going to be lost forever. There must be controls in place to protect these vulnerable lands and our provincial government has not shown interest in saving our green and water spaces. Conservation authorities must continue to have the power to oversee these vulnerable areas and protect them from urban sprawl and greedy investors. Conservation authorities are much more knowledgeable about their specific areas and understand their vulnerability and protection requirements. The provincial government is only interested in money. These valuable resources cannot be replaced or saved once development begins.
Save our planet! Future generations need green spaces, forests and uncluttered beaches for their enjoyment!
