It's great to make sure all the trucks are up to standard. I may have missed something but there doesn't seem any incentive to go beyond the standard which Im sure is relatively low.
Fuel, particulate mater, NOx, CO, Co2 emission reductions
There are plenty of technologies out there that will improve some or all emissions beyond the standard but no trucking companies will absorb the costs unless forced to or incentives are given to induce them to improve more than that required. It seems improving more than the standard is what is required to even slow down effects of emissions on the environment.
