Stop. This is shameful and not thinking about future generations or climate change. This is dangerous, heavy-handed legislation that empowers aggregates, infrastructure projects, and developers while removing due process for much needed restriction that protect water and the environment. It is short-sighted and we will pay for this assault on the environment. Urban sprawl is not what is needed. We need housing solutions that are in urban areas reducing the reliance on cars that are economically viable for people. How has the public been consulted? How have local First Nations such as the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations on whose treaty and ancestral territory you are making permanent decisions about, being heard and respected? Reconciliation is not just a word, it is action. You can't say a land acknowledgement in your meetings and do this. Someone sitting listening to this comment, do something. The time is now to stand up for future generations and stop the bulldozers. The next generation will thank you for standing up against environmental destruction.
