No, I oppose the amendment to the green belt plan.

I have experienced first hand the after effects of wildlife looking for a new place to live. In my 77year old mother’s backyard! We have a family of 5 coyotes living in her Scarborough backyard because it has trees and bushes at the back of the fence that she can no longer cut back. It has been a safety concern and now her grandchildren can no longer play in the backyard freely!
She lives near the rouge valley park and with new development along Pickering Scarborough town line by Finch there has been an increase of wildlife coming into peoples yards.

Wild life need their wild places to live!

My school where I work in Pickering has had to cancel recess and have indoor recess because of foxes running in the school yard! It is not safe for the children who will chase these wild animals.

The green belt is there for a reason and it’s to keep the wild animals in their habitat and not in the newly developed housing areas that will be built there.

Please consult environmental assessment and wildlife experts as to how many animals this will affect. Do a count and think where will these wild animals go… into people backyards.
