The Greenbelt is vital to the people of Ontarios health and well being. As Ontario grows we need good soil and agricultural land more than ever. There are mass amounts of abandoned factory lands, and old commercial properties throughout cities in southern Ontario. Use them to increase housing. You cannot replace fertile soil with land elsewhere, but you can move the housing elsewhere. Doug Ford made a promise not to touch the greenbelt, don't let him go back on that. I'm hard pressed to believe that 100%of his proposed builds would be low income , and frankly that's the type of builds we need. Low income properties built on the outskirts of cities make no sense either, considering many low income families do not own vehicles and would be hard pressed to transit for jobs, food, etc. It's all for rich people and their mega mansions.
