I am upset at the dismemberment of this initiative -- the current administration doesn't seem to care about taking the time to learn about the facts and weight the options carefully. It seems to think pushing "promises" through blindly is appropriate. And it isn't. I voted PC but did not expect this rash, irresponsible behaviour. Calling it a "slush" fund is political posturing to try to make it sound like the new government is doing the right thing when it doesn't know what it is doing -- the money collected from this actually went back to further other environmental initiatives-- it was never a slush fund for other projects. The environment is important to me, to my kids, to all living creatures on this planet . I prefer that my government take the time to do its due diligence and dive deep, not surface level only, really understand it, and not be afraid to rescind/back track if deemed the right thing to do. I actually voted for the PC because Doug Ford admitted he was going down the wrong track on some parkland issue and changed his mind and wasn't afraid to publicly admit it. I was hoping for the same kind of integrity with his new government. This is bigger than all of us, so yes, please consult the public, meet with the experts already working on the project, dive deep for total understanding before eliminating something that is so important to our future. The Ontario system is better than what the Feds will come up with and will cost Ontarians less in the long run... we are/were in the lead on this. Dive deeper so we can carry forward with something that makes sense
