This proposal makes me so viciously angry. There is a reason this is a greenbelt. It is not for nothing. If you allow Ford to go back on the Greenbelt plan then where does it stop? What prevents him from building more and more until the Greenbelt is none existant? Do you not realize we are in a climate crisis? That we are losing our ecosystems and our resources at an alarming rate because of constant unsustainable development like this? I mean do you really think we need more housing built on perfectly healthy, fertile land instead of the acres of useless land around Toronto? Yes, Toronto is growing. Yes, the population is growing. So, why don't we convert some of the hundreds of gold courses to sustainable housing options like apartments and condos? Yes we all want houses with a big yard and a white picket fence. I am sorry to burst your bubble but that cannot be our reality in 2022. We need sustainability. We need to build upwards not outwards. We need protect our environment, our ecosystems, the little land that we have left. Did you ever think that maybe the GTA does not need to grow anymore? Is it not big enough? I have witnessed first hand my beloved forests and environmental playgrounds that I held dear as a kid be ripped to shreds all for more large houses that will cost millions of dollars. It is repulsive. Actually digusting. It hurts my heart, my soul. I long so desperately for us to be able to take care of God's green earth, to be stewards, to watch over our animals, plants, food, etc. I long for my children and my children's children to be able to go outside and play in the grasss. To go outside and be able to see trees and fresh clean unpolluted air. Do you remember any biology classes from high school? The part where trees are essential to filtering out the CO2 so that we can actually breathe? I genuinely cannot express all of my anger and I have never felt this furious in my life. Please hear our complaints. Hear the earth's complaints. Think about the future... really all of it. What impacts will this have on the current and next generation? Sure there are more houses but at what cost. I ask you, at what cost? Thank you.
